“I think of myself as a meat-and-potatoes kind of director.”
- Singin’ in the Rain
- Charade
- On the Town
- Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
- Two for the Road
- Funny Face
- Royal Wedding
- Indiscreet
- Arabesque
- Bedazzled
- It’s Always Fair Weather
- The Grass is Greener
Well-known Collaborations: Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire in musicals

I know he’s seen primarily as a musical director but ,personally, I’d have tried to find a spot a few more non-musicals – Arabesque and The Grass is Greener. They’re not perhaps “great” movies but they are fun.

Thanks for the recommendations! Charae is probably my favorite of Donen’s non-musicals that I have seen.
